Places to Visit The cottages at Westwood lie just off the Fosseway, close to the delightful villages of Lower Slaughter and Bourton-on-the-Water thus providing an ideal base for touring and exploring within the rolling uplands of the Cotswold Hills . Bow Cotttage, South Lawn Barn, South lawn Cottage, Alice, Appledore & Farthingale are situated in Bourton-on-the-Water, which boasts an array of interesting shops, restaurants, pubs and visitor attractions. For children, there is the 'Brum' museum, fun days, Birdland and a leisure centre with pool. The Cotswolds host an array of quaint unchanged market towns and villages, beautiful Hidcote and Kiftsgate gardens, NT houses, Sudeley Castle , Blenheim Palace , an excellent wildlife park at Burford, two farm parks and many famous old inns. Slightly further afield in the riverside town of Stratford-upon-Avon there are historic houses, churches and the Memorial and Swan theatres dedicated to William Shakespeare. At the University City of Oxford there are famous museums and libraries and guided tours of the colleges. From the cottages there is access to a network of footpaths providing good walking.
